ROTARY CLUB OF CANBERRA SUNRISE ANNOUNCES DATES FOR MODEL UNITED NATIONS ASSEMBLY (MUNA) 2026
 
The President of the Rotary Club of Canberra Sunrise (RCCS), Rosemary Everett has annouced the dates that the Club will be facilitating the Model United Nations Assembly (MUNA) 2026 in conjunction with Rotary Disctrict 9705.
 
MUNA 2026 delegates will be accommodated at Discovery Park Canberra and will arrive on the afternoon of Friday 21 August 2026 for their two night stay. Debating of United Nations resolutions will take place at Old Parliament House (the Museum of Australian Democracy) in the House of Representatives Chamber for a full day on Saturday 22 August and a half day on Sunday 23 August 2026. 
 
We expect to call for expressions of interest from schools and sponsoring Rotary Clubs in mid-February January 2026.

ROTARY'S MODEL UNITED NATIONS ASSEMBLY (MUNA) HAILED A SUCCESS AT THE MUSEUM OF AUSTRALIAN DEMOCRACY IN 2025  
 
On 16 - 17 August 2025, passionate debate once again filled the historic House of Representatives Chamber at Canberra's Old Parliament House (now MoAD, the Museum of Australian Democracy), as the Rotary Club of Canberra Sunrise facilitated the Model United Nations Assembly (MUNA 2025).
 
Almost 60 students from 19 schools around Australia travelled to Canberra to debate United Nations (UN) Resolutions with fervour, conviction and with passion. 
 
MoAD provided the perfect venue for debating the UN resolutions – a venue that was the home of our democracy from its opening almost a century ago on 9 May 1927, until the opening of our “new” Parliament House on 9 May 1988.
