ROTARY'S MODEL UNITED NATIONS ASSEMBLY (MUNA) HAILED A SUCCESS AT THE MUSEUM OF AUSTRALIAN DEMOCRACY IN 2026
On 22 - 23 August 2026, passionate debate once again filled the historic House of Representatives Chamber at Canberra's Old Parliament House (now MoAD, the Museum of Australian Democracy), as the Rotary Club of Canberra Sunrise facilitated the Model United Nations Assembly (MUNA 2026).
More than 60 students comprising 22 teams from 20 schools around Australia travelled to Canberra to debate 6 x United Nations (UN) Resolutions with fervour, conviction and with passion.
MoAD provided the perfect venue for debating the UN resolutions – a venue that was the home of our democracy from its opening almost a century ago on 9 May 1927, until the opening of our “new” Parliament House on 9 May 1988.
