Friday the 31st of July 2026 commenced with a temperature at first light of minus 4 (and an apparant temperature of minus 7.7 degrees C)! Appropriately rugged up, Roger and Greg were the first to arrive at Bunnings Fyshwick to set up for a full day of a fund raising barbeque. They were joined shortly thereafter by Peter, Neil, Helen, David, President Ainslie, Kim and Randal. Even though Friday barbeques are not as busy as weekends, a steady stream of hungry customers arrived for their sausage sandwiches as the day warmed up, with takings for the day of over $1000. One of the satisfied customers was District-Governor-Elect Gary Davis, who commented favourably on the Rotary Club of Canberra Sunrise's tenacity in the face of a chilly morning, and amazing culinary skills! Thanks to Roger for his superb coordination, and to those that joined in to boost the Club's coffers so we can create lasting impact!
