The National Youth Science Festival organisers have advised that they are well down on the number of volunteers for home host on Sunday 10th and/or Sunday 24th January.  The key requirements are have a house the students can be taken to, have a washing machine and be able to provide lunch and dinner.  This is a day off from the busy NYSF schedule, so the students will most likely be looking to rest up and relax.  You are not expected to provide a tour of the city or anything else.

The working with vulnerable people clearance is not required as the home hosts will not be keeping students overnight.  More details are provided below.

Three RCCS members are currently supporting this initiative.  Please consider if you can join them.

From convenor - Tony Trumble:

I am asking that you encourage your club members to home host on Sunday 10th January and/or Sunday 24th January. Whether your members are Rotarians or Rotaractors, they are eligible to home host. The key requirements are have a house the students can be taken to, have a washing machine and be able to provide lunch and dinner.

The working with vulnerable people clearance is not required as the home hosts will not be keeping students overnight.

While I am specifically targeting Rotarians and Rotaractors, other suitable home hosts would be very welcome. They might be adult children, parents or friends.

I would prefer that home hosts register via the district website using this link. However, if required people can email me or phone and I will fix it up. To be able to register someone, I need their name, the address where the students will be on the Sunday, home or personal mobile number, the number of students that they can host (minimum of two and a maximum of six) and which Sundays they can host.

Some of the students have dietary restrictions for health, religious or personal reasons. If the host family has dietary restrictions I may be able to allocate students who have the same restrictions.

I need to place 200 students at each session. As of today, I have placements for 63 on 10th January and 53 on 24th January.  Any hosting help that can be given will be appreciated.
