The 2026 National Youth Science Forum (NYSF) Program in Canberra, was conducted from January 6–14 2026 at the Australian National University (ANU) bringing together aspiring STEM students from across Australia for an intensive, hands-on experience. The program aimed to foster diversity in STEM, with 46% of participants from regional areas, 61% young women, and 3% identifying as Indigenous, highlighting its role in building a future-focused workforce.

The Rotary Club of Canberra Sunrise sponsored Erindale College Student Max Grech to attend the forum, and on Thursday 5 February, he provided a presentation to the Club on his thoughts on the program and how it has influenced his career decisions.

The program provided immersive STEM experiences for Max and his course cohort, and included lab visits, industry partner site tours, and workshops on diverse science and technology fields.

The program aims to bridge the gap between high school and university, offering insights into careers in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM).

The program is supported by partners such as Rotary, helping to facilitate access for participants such as Max.
