Canberra Day Public Holiday Barbeque
A small dedicated band of Rotary Club of Canberra Sunrise Members and Supporters gathered at Bunnings in Fyshwick on the Canberra Day public holiday to conduct a fund raising barbeque for the Club.

Led by our barbeque coordinator Roger and supported by Club President Rosemary, many helpers forfeited their public holiday - thanks to Neil, Ainslie, Peter, Randal, Sarah, Greg, Mihini and Akain.
We had high hopes of serving thousands of sausages and achieving a healthy boost to our charitable coffers, however that wasn't to be. We did cheerfully serve the community well though, selling over 400 sandwiches and 120 drinks raising over $740.

A special thank you to Sarah (Peter's daughter), Akain and Mihini (Yohan's family). Having family join the team is wonderful and makes the event that much better. It was also great to see past member Randal join the team with his energy, wit and banter.
We had a few loaves of bread left over to offer St John's Care and a good supply of sausages hanging out in the freezer for the next BBQ. Thanks again to our barbeque coordinator Roger who personally prepared our healthy supply of freshly cut onions!
