Thirty three members of Canberra Sunrise, Canberra Sundowners and friends worked together over about 6 hours to pack 600 birthing kits destined for overseas regions where proper facilities for giving birth are not readily available. As well as providing the people power to pack the kits, $3,000 had been raised to purchase the items, including a $500 donation from corporate sponsor Keane Consulting (https://www.keane.com.au/). Birthing Kit Foundation Australia (https://www.bkfa.org.au/) will ship these units to where they are needed, making a tremendous impact on the ground for women in need of them.
The event also provided an opportunity for a number of friends of club members and the Keane Consulting team to participate in one of our community service events, and was a lot of fun.
