Chartering
The draft constitution and by-laws were circulated for comments and subsequently discussed at our meeting on 8th June. After a few suggested updates were incorporated, these documents were finalised. At the Special General Meeting held at our 22nd June club meeting, both the constitution and by-laws were accepted by members. The club will now progress the application for a new Rotary club through RI Parramatta. Thanks to the chartering committee for the great work done to get to this point.
The photo below shows our brief celebrations after the vote on the constitution and by-laws.
We have sent a letter to the District Governor and District Governor-Elect providing an update on our chartering progress, and seeking consideration of some financial support to helping us charter.
Tara is forming a committee to start planning our charter celebration event. If you would like to assist in any way please contact her at tara@pullen.id.au.

Farewell to Club Members
Sadly, two of our members have elected to take a break from Rotary, at least for the time being. We wish to thank the following members for their contributions to the club and wish them all the best for the future: We will miss you both!
- Ash Jensen - has been a major driver in organising community service activities for the club for several years, including our renowned COVID mask making sessions and packing sessions for Kindness Conquers All. Ash has also used her creative talents on decorating our second street library.
- Karen Bailey - a newer member who was a keen contributor to several service activities. Karen moved to Townsville with her Defence job at the start of the year.

Update on Ser Sim
Ser has just on completed his training for Lifeline phone counselling. With training on Tuesday nights and other times, Ser has not been to many club meetings over recent months. Well done Ser - a great commitment.
Ser has also been busy honing his table tennis skills. His team won the Div 4 grand final recently. Congratulations Ser (and move over Peter).

The Canberra Sundowners web pages are available within the Canberra Sunrise web site - located here. We welcome your thoughts on how we can improve it. Send your thoughts, recommendations and photos to Peter. We are starting to plan development of our own Sundowners web site. Our Meeting Routine
We meet on Tuesday evenings, typically from 6.30pm.
We alternate our meeting routine, with fortnightly club meetings at our home venue, the Canberra Club at 51 Blackall St, Barton. Club meetings are normally held in the meeting room downstairs and start at 6.30pm. At these meetings we like to discuss club activities, community service options what is happening in Rotary. We also have guest speakers at some of these meetings. If you would like to order a meal it is best to arrive about 15 minutes early to place your order and you are welcome to eat it during the meeting. On these meeting nights a number of members like a social chat and drink after the meeting finishes (around 7.30pm).
Between our club meetings, we typically will have one social event a month and one or more community service activities.
Check our Facebook page for details of what is happening over the next few weeks.
