Responsibilities of membership
What Rotarians get out of Rotary depends largely on what they put into it.
- Service: Members are required to volunteer their time and talents where they are needed most by participating in local and international service projects.
- Finding and keeping members: To keep clubs strong, every Rotarian shares the responsibility to bring new people into Rotary by inviting guests to club meetings and inviting them to participate in a service project.
- Dues: Club members are required to pay semi-annual dues, which includes a subscription fee to Rotary Down Under magazine.
- Leadership: Club members are encouraged to volunteer for leadership or committee roles at the club level and beyond.
Qualifications for membership
There is no minimum age to join Rotary, but you are required to have an established career that enables you to bring a specialisation to the club. Undergraduate and graduate students should consider becoming a member of a Rotaract club or Interact for high school students.
